Mental Health Matters
Did you know that May is #mentalhealthawareness month?
As someone who has suffered from #ptsd since a very young age, battling anxiety and depression; this is something that is very close to my heart
People use to think PTSD was just something that war vets suffered from, but is far more common then you would think.
44 million adult Americans have a mental health condition
62% of kids and teens with depression will go untreated
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for 10-35 year olds
1.1% (2.4 million) of American adults living with schizophrenia.
2.6% (6.1 million) living with bipolar disorder.
6.9% (16 million) living with major depression.
18.1% (42 million) living with anxiety disorder
Remember you were born with a purpose.
Whether you see it now or not, you were.
You have to stick around long enough to share your gifts with the world.
It's okay, to not be okay.
Nothing in life and no one in this world is perfect.
There is hope and things do get better.
I'm here to hold space for anyone struggling through this difficult time, just needing a safe space to openly share.
Remember to always be kind instagrammers
