Chloe's 11th Birthday Celebration
I absolutely cannot believe I have an 11 year old. It doesn't feel like I've had her for that long, but at the same time I feel as though she has always been with me.
Being a mom is the best! Especially when you get to spoil your child or children.
As a single mom, to say I've struggled financially over the last 11 years would be the understatement of the century. But I never gave up. I couldn't. I have this beautiful little girl depending on me.
I'm happy to report that finally after being self employed for 2 years, life is GOOD!
So being able to finally spoil the heck out of my daughter, with my own money, on her birthday was INCREDIBLE!
The birthday festivities began with a full blown shopping spree the weekend before. Chloe is practically as tall as I am and has bigger feet, so a new wardrobe was definitely in order.
She got 4 pairs of shoes, 5 pairs of shorts, tons of shirts, socks, and bras. ((hehe))
It was so nice to be able to get her whatever she wanted.
One of Chloe's favorite restaurants to go to is Ra, even though she doesn't eat sushi. She loves their teriyaki chicken bento box.
So I then surprised her with a mother daughter dinner date.
We ordered edamame, lobster wontons, mango lobster roll, tootsie maki, and her teriyaki chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious.
Service is always great and the atmosphere is nice.
As if we hadn't eaten enough at dinner, we then went to Yogurtland. Chloe had never been, so I figured why not. Little girl wasn't shy once we got there either. She loaded her bowl up pretty good. I was shocked she ate it all!
Whats a birthday celebration without pedicure?!
Chloe loves being pampered. She loves getting her toes and nails done as often as I do. She picked out grey for her toes, which kind of threw me off. But shes the birthday girl and can do what she wants.
I went with a simple pink! :)
Every year for our birthdays, we go out to dinner with my mom and stepdad since they live 5 minutes away. Normally, we always choose German food from Zur Kate, but the birthday girl wanted teppanyaki tonight! So we all went to Osaka near Superstition Spring Mall.
Such a fun atmosphere, our chef was a riot, and the food was to die for. Who doesn't like dinner and a show!?
But the BEST part was when they put a giant baby head on Chloe and the entire restaurant started singing Happy Birthday. They have such a catchy little tune; I was still singing it days later.
But the BIG surprise was an overnight stay at a resort in Scottsdale.
Again, money has always been tight. So I've never been able to spend like this before. Yes, I may have gone overboard. But rent and bills were paid... And we deserve it dang-it!
The look on Chloe's face when she saw me with an overnight bag was priceless y'all. She started jumping up and down saying "thank you thank you thank you. You're the best mom ever." Felt so good to make her so happy.
We stopped and got Sprinkles Cupcakes on the way to the resort. We both LOVE cupcakes and had never been. She got a classic vanilla cupcake with sprinkles and I tried the gluten free red velvet.
We were greeted promptly upon entering the lobby. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. He quickly got us all checked in, told us about some of the amenities, gave us the hours for breakfast, and navigated us to our room.
But this wasn't an ordinary room y'all. All the rooms at Sonesta are suites and have full kitchens and living rooms! It was very convenient.
We popped some popcorn and watched a movie before passing out in what may have been one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. Doesn't hurt that hotel rooms are SOOOO dark. It's my favorite.
In the morning we got ready and headed down to breakfast bright and early. Huge selection of food- Pancakes, french toast, eggs, potatoes, tortillas, bacon, sausage, pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, and I'm sure there are a few things I'm leaving out. Everything was very tasty.
Then we headed back to the room, packed up, and headed back home.
When we got home, she opened her present. A bag filled with girlie essentials and little goodies.
But wait!!! There's more!!!
I thought I got her good with the staycation, but when I handed Chloe a practically brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 9, I thought she was going to cry. This was pure joy and utter excitement. I myself had to hold back tears.
We topped the weekend off with Captain Marvel at Fat Cats and Pizza from MOD.
Feels pretty damn good to be able to finally provide Chloe with the life she has always deserved.
It isn't always easy, but it is always worth it!!!
Now time to plan my birthday :)
